Blah Blah Blah Improv, the Gold Coast’s premier improv comedy company, is bringing two family-friendly, side-splitting shows to the 2025 Darwin Fringe Festival: Whodunnit: The Made-Up Musical and Comedy on Cue, performing 19 and 20 July.
Featuring international performer Michael Sharmon — an accomplished Australian playwright, director, and musical theatre star who has performed in hundreds of productions across Australia, UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, and Singapore — and the Gold Coast’s best improvisers.
“These shows are completely unscripted and driven by audience suggestions,” said Director Mandy Plumb.
“We’ve created a hilarious experience that parents and kids can enjoy together.
“It’s clever, clean comedy with a whole lot of heart — and you never know what’s going to happen next!”
The daytime shows feature the world premiere of Whodunnit: The Made-Up Musical; an all-new improvised musical combining a PG-rated crime mystery, toe-tapping tunes, and audience suggestions to create a hilariously unpredictable story, live on stage.
The story unfolds several times through the perspectives of different characters, and once in reverse!
Every twist, character, and song are created on the spot, making each performance completely unique—no two performances are ever the same!
Comedy on Cue, showing at the ever-popular Dom’s Bar and Lounge, features lightning-fast short-form improv games inspired by shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway? — it’s the only comedy show at the festival where adults can enjoy a cocktail and still bring the kids along.
“It’s really rare to find comedy that’s genuinely funny and suitable for all ages,” said Plumb.
“We’re thrilled to bring these shows to Darwin Fringe and offer something fun, inclusive, and a little bit magical for local families.”
