Get ready to flex your improv muscles and experience the joy of genre-based improv with Janette McBride! With Janette’s guidance, you’ll dive into tropes, inverted tropes, and character archetypes as you explore a variety of genres. You will bring characters to life while staying true to their unique worlds. Come play with genres in this wildly fun one-off workshop by an improv great! ABOUT YOUR GUEST TEACHER Janette McBride started acting at a young age, having the unique experience of being in TV shows and films in the Philippines. She has been performing improv with Big Fork Theatre in Brisbane since 2015 and is their newest Director. She has trained under NIDA and regularly teaches improv. Janette has produced shows for improv festivals in Brisbane, Auckland, and Manila, and she is particularly excited about cultural diversity and character development. This workshop takes place at 4/179-181 Currumburra Rd, Ashmore , Gold Coast, 4214 from 1pm until 4pm (Qld time) on Saturday, 5 April 2025.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations & changes Packages for improv jams: You will get a full refund of your package credit if you cancel or change your booking up to 12 hours before the improv session starts. One-off workshop, casual jams, or masterclass: You will get a refund (less the cost of payment gateway, website transaction, and banking fees) if you cancel up to seven days before the session. Multiple-week courses: You will get a refund (less the cost of payment gateway, website transaction, and banking fees) if you cancel up to two weeks before the course commences. For cancellations of workshops and courses that do not fall within the above timelines, you will receive credit to go towards the next class or workshop. This does not apply to cancellations of jams.
