Learn the most iconic long-form improv format in the world! You’ve mastered the foundations and dipped your toes into long-form… now it’s time to level up. In this seven-week course, you’ll explore the world’s most influential long-form structure — created by the legendary Del Close (co-founder of iO Theater in Chicago) — and discover how this celebrated format unlocks rich storytelling, ensemble flow, and unforgettable comedic moments. You’ll learn: • the structure, rhythm, and purpose behind the world-famous long-form format • advanced ‘Chicago-style’ editing and transitions • how to weave themes, patterns, and group mind into a cohesive narrative • techniques for creating believable characters who serve the story • how to heighten ideas across beats and discover deeper comedic games • ways to build dynamic group scenes and strong openings • ensemble set games to perform within the Harold • how to support your ensemble using clarity, commitment, and truthful choices PREREQUISITES You must have completed all courses in levels 1–3.
