What it's about

So you’ve completed improv foundation classes and hungry for more? In this seven-week improvisation course, you’ll be introduced to long-form improvised performances. You’ll learn: - the skills needed for strong acting and character work - how to let the scene breathe - how to use truthful storytelling to form interesting ideas for comedic scenes - to make choices in scenes that will advance the plot - to find the comedy 'game' - two different long-form improv formats: the Armando (made famous by UCB's Asssscat) and Blah Blah Blah Improv's signature improv show, Small Town Council. There will be an opportunity to perform a long-form improvised show to an audience after completing the course.* PREREQUISITES You must have completed the Improv: Fun and Games course, OR have completed a level 1 course with another improv company. Ideally, you will also have a basic understanding of editing techniques for long-form improv. If you aren't sure if your experience meets the requirements to do this course, please call 0412 702802. COURSE DATES 1.30pm–3.30pm, Sundays from 7 July–18 August 2024 (7 weeks) LOCATION The CWA hall at 124 Marine Parade, Coolangatta. *Conditions apply.
